Justin's 6 - The Friend Party

June 26, 2013.

Justin was able to celebrate his 6th birthday with his friends on his actual birthday.  Naturally, Justin wanted a water party.  So a water party we had.  The blow up water slide was the main attraction.

and of course, the tramp was a big hit.

Then there was the race across the back yard.  This was the 1st wave....

...the 2nd wave....

...now all at once!

Next, there was Red-Rover-Red-Rover.

Send Kiera right over!

Red-Rover-Red-Rover send someone right thru the sprinkler!

Then all the kids got their own water squirter.
The pool at the water slide was so convenient to full back up.

Then we took a break for presents.

Fisher thought it was his birthday.  That's whats so awesome about having brothers.

The whole crew:  Back row: Wyatt Page, Cameron Nault, Elli Dangerfield, MacKay Meyer, Tommy Thiriot, Nate Muse, and Justin.  Front row: Estin Oswald, Kiera Saunders, Alexia Recksiek, Keegan Worthen, Tyler "T" Muse, and Jason Christiansen.  MIA is Fisher and Soren.

Treats consisted of chocolate cupcakes, ice cream cones and lemonade.

After treats it was back to the water and the squirters.

Then of course it turned into a water fight....

Boys against Girls!  I would say the girls are a little out numbered!!

It was an awesome birthday party.  There were no tears and the kids had fun!  Success!!
 Happy 6th Birthday Justin!!

Justin's 6 - The Family Party

June 23, 2013.

This year the birthday celebrations started with the family party at Sunrise Meadows Park.  Justin was really excited and liked his birthday cakes.

Justin and his best buddy Fisher and cousin Keegan.

It was a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle birthday party.  Kjell did a little reminiscing of his "Turtle es" days.  It was fun.

 Blowing out the candle.....

Hunter missed the entire thing.  He feel asleep in his high chair...sunglasses and all.

Happy Birthday Justin!  We love you so much!

Justin's 6 - The Birthday Cake

June 22, 2013.

Nothing's better than a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Cake for a little boy who is turning 6 years old!  Justin has been very into Leonardo lately so he was the winner and became the face of Justin's birthday cake!

First, I started with a white frosting base.  I traced the shape I wanted by using a toothpick to trace the template I got online.

Next, I started with Leonardo's blue eye mask.

Then I added his eyes and his smile.

Lastly, I finished Leonardo off with a green face.

I was pretty proud of myself for creating this beauty of a Turtle cake.  The boys really liked it and was impressed too.

If only making the cake really only took 4 steps I would do this kind of cake more often.  I love making fun cakes for the boys on their birthdays.  We are now ready for the party.

Jusitn Swim Lessons Round 1

June 19, 2013.

Swim lessons this summer were June 18-28th.  They were Tuesday-Friday for 2 weeks for 30 minutes each time.  This year Justin joined a class at the Turner's pool (Heather's mom and dad).  This is Justin's 2nd summer taking lessons.

My boys really like the water so swimming lessons are an absolute must; especially with all the time we spend in Grandma and Grandpa's pool.

Justin did really well this round.  He remembered a lot from last year and got better with every day in the water.  It took a few days for Justin to figure out how to put his face in the water with out plugging his nose and how to get past water being in his eyes.  The googles helped ALOT.  On the first day Justin would swim from teacher Lezlie in the middle of the pool back to the step.

Once the kids got good at swimming from the middle to the step she started teaching them to jump in, start swimming, and swim to the other side of the pool. Here is Justin getting ready to jump in.
 Jump.....

 Start swimming....

Keep swimming.....

And then back the other way.... to the steps.....

Justin was so proud of himself each and every time he reached the steps.

Justin did so well at swim lessons.  He gained a lot of confidence while being in the water.  He did so well we signed up for Round #2 in August.  Round #2 Fisher gets to join the fun!

Thanks Heather for letting us join the fun!

Water Slide at Grandma Sing's

June 18, 2013.

Now that Summer is finally here and we have broken in the water slide the boys wanted to play with their cousins on it at Grandma's house.  So that's what we did.  We loaded up with water slide in tow and went for a water day with the cousins.

That is Will coming down the slide.  Emmie is close behind.  The water always takes a few minutes to get used to cause it is so cold.

Fisher and Hunter in the little wadding pool.

Hunter actually enjoyed the cold water today.

Jason in the pool area.

All the cousins that came on time to Grandma's (Haylie was late again so her kids missed this picture).  Hunter loved having the kids play with him in 'his pool'.  Will, Emmie, Hunter, Soren, Fisher, Jason and Justin.

Of course Jason spent time playing with Hunter and Fisher.  Jason is always so good to play with Hunter when he sees him.

The three amigos - Hannah, Emmie and Addie.

Keegan and Justin giving their best pose.  What geeks.

Fisher loved having the beach balls to play with.  They were short lived because the wind started to blow and blew the balls away.  Made for a sad Fisher.

We love play days with the cousins.  It is always so much fun.  Plus, I like seeing my sisters too.

Whatever it takes to get them to eat?

June 14, 2013.

Whatever it takes to get them to eat? Right? Well, tonight at dinner, Fisher refused to eat his chicken nuggets unless he did things his way.

He wanted me to put the nuggets in the ginormous silver bowl.  He then preceded to pick them up and put them on his plate with the "pinchers".  He had to do this with every last nugget.  Once they were all on his plate.... he ate everyone.

Fisher gets his stubbornness from his mom and his dad.  Not a good combination!  Fish, I love your determination!

Special Olympics 2013

June 13, 2013.

We had the opportunity to go to the Opening Ceremonies of the Special Olympics 2013.  It was at Herriman High School.  Tyler's work is a sponsor of the games.  We got tickets to the VIP dinner. It was very cool.

Here is Tyler and the boys on the track.  We were waiting for the Hihg-5 line to welcome the athletes.

Tyler and Hunter sporting the shades.

As part of the opening ceremony a whole bunch of police officers on motorcycles drove out on the track and onto the field.  The boys thought this was pretty cool.

Here the motorcycle police are at center field.

As part of being VIP guests, we were able to stand in the High-5-Line.  This is where people line up on the track and give all of the athletes high-5's as they enter the stadium.  It was pretty neat seeing how many athletes there were and being able to wish them luck.

Tyler and Fisher waiting for more athletes.

We stood by Cosmo during the High-5-Line. Justin was so excited he couldn't take his eyes off Cosmo.  Fisher wanted nothing to do with him.

Me and Hunter in the stands watching the athletes preform as part of the ceremonies.  It was so dang windy it was hard to hear the announcer.

Fisher was loving the stadium seats and thought it was cool to sit at the very top.

The color-gaurd was all special needs athletes.  It was very cool to watch this performance.

We had a good experience participating at this year's Special Olympics Opening Ceremonies.  Thank you to Tyler's work for sponsoring such a great cause.
