Rules to Playing Kicks and Punches

January 2013.

Me: "Fisher, if you and Justin are playing kicks and punches, you should take your shoes off."

What I should have said:
"Fisher, please don't kick or punch Justin."

What is happening to me?? I am a mother of 3 boys is what has happened to me!!!

Why kids ignore their parents

Sometime January 2013.

Mom: "Justin, why are you ignoring me?"
Justin: "Mom, if you didn't talk to me, I wouldn't have to ignore you."

Bahaha! I loved this. He just stated it so matter of factly!
So now it is my fault that my 5-year-old ignores me!

I have Boys!!

January 1, 2013.

One night I was going to bed and something caught my eye.... a wooden sword on the kitchen counter.  It hit me like a load of bricks... I have Boys!!!  It brought a smile to my face and I even laughed a little out loud.

I began looking around and all sorts of things were standing out to me.  It made me so happy to look around my house and see the evidence that little boys live here!!

Hunter's books.

An ice hockey table in the middle of the living room.

Shoes left where ever they land.

Ninjago books and hand held video games on the entertainment center.

Justin's DS.

A soccer ball behind the recliner.

Toy boxes in the corner of my living room.  And yes, those are bouncey balls with handles on them.

More toys.

Wooden paint-at-home racecars on the kitchen table right next to the siperman puzzle the boys finished just hours before.

The stack of arts and crafts on the kitchen table.

Crazy bendy guy hanging from the kitchen utinsil drawer saving all of the toys in the toy drawer.

Little frog guy watching crazy bendy guy save the toys.

I loved noticing all of these things.  I took pictures and went to bed...leaving all of this evidence that boys live here just the way they left it!

Sledding with the cousins

January 1, 2013.

On New Year's Day we went to Grandpa Scott's and Grandma Sing's and played in the snow.  All of the Gerber cousins were there.  It was the perfect day for sledding!

Hunter and Fisher in the ice fishing sled going to the top of the hill.

Here they come....... Tyler was chasing them from the back!

Keegan and Justin

Justin, Fisher and Keegan in the ice fishing sled getting pulled behind the 4-wheeler.

Tyler pulling the kids in the sled behind the 4-wheeler.  The big grass area at my Dad's was perfect for this and the little kiddos.  The kids LOVED this.

The girls were die-hards.  They kept at it longer and harder than the boys!  Addie, Hannah and Emmie.

Brandan pulled Tyler and Hunter behind the 4-wheeler.  Hunter LOVED the wind in his face.  He had so much fun!

It was so much fun to spend the day with our boys and they always love doing things with their cousins.  We were proud of ourselves for finding ways for Hunter to be involved and it was a lot easier than I expected.  Hunter did great!

More pictures coming....... I am just waiting on Haylie to email them to me. hehe

Christmas Day 2012

December 25, 2012.

Merry Christmas!!  This year has been so much fun.  Justin has been waiting months for this day to come.  He has been very patient.  Fisher and Hunter didnt quite understand the whole Santa thing.  Fisher did a pretty good job of understanding that it was Jesus' birthday!

Justin has been waiting for his DSi for a whole year.  Last Christmas his cousin, Will, got a DSi and Justin told me on Christmas Day 2011 that next year he wanted a DS.  He stuck to it all year long.  We were so HAPPY when Santa pulled through.

Fisher asked Santa for a pirate ship.  He was excited when he saw it!

Hunter didn't quite know which to touch first.  He got a ball blower and a firetruck.

Fisher loved the super heros he found in his stocking.

Justin was so excited for his new flashlight.  He thought it was so cool to get toys and treats in his stocking.

Hunter liked his firetruck.  Fisher kept insisting that all Hunter wanted from Santa was a firetruck.  Santa agreed with Fisher and brought him a firetruck.

Justin got Fisher a fishing pole.  Fisher liked it and is looking forward to his first fishing trip.

Hunter got a lot of new books.  He is so interested in books and has gotten so good at flipping through the pages.

The boys had lots of fun unwrapping presents.  Tyler and I had fun watching their reactions and enjoying their new toys.

Merry Christmas!!

Christmas Eve

December 24, 2012.

Christmas Eve was lots of fun.  Tyler had the day off so we just took it easy most of the day.  We visited Tyler's mom at Stonehenge and then we came home.  Our neighborhood started a new tradition this year. We all put out luminary sacks and lit up the neighborhood at 7:00 pm.  It was fun to start something new.  The boys thought it was so fun to be out in the snow lighting brown paper bags on fire.

Her is Fisher trying to catch the big snow flakes.

Justin really liked the luminary bags.  He was so excited for Santa.

Hunter even got in on the outside action. Tyler kept him wrapped up in a blanket on the porch.  It was so cold that we didnt stay outside very long.

We decided to start a new tradition of Christmas Eve jammies.  I looked high and low to find just the right pair for each boy.  It was only natuaral to have a super hero theme.  Justin got Batman.

Fisher got spiderman.

And Hunter got spiderman too!

This year I had some personalized books for each boy.  They each loved that they had their own book with pictures all about them.  Here they are waiting to open.  Thanks Justin for trying to get Hunter to look at the camera.

Justin really liked his book.

Justin was so excited to read his book to Dad.

Yes, that is a picture of Fisher with his light-saber on the back of it.  He liked his book too.

Fisher never sits still so this was nothing short of amazing... he was actually sitting down looking at his book!

Hunter got all excited to look at his book.

Hunter is all about books now days.

Christmas Eve was fun!  I am excited about some new traditions...luminaries and Christmas Eve jammies.

Just me and Justo

December 24, 2012.

On Christmas Eve morning it snowed.  That meant one thing.... playing in the snow!  It was early, like 9:00 or so.  I left the little boys home with Tyler and Justin and I went down to the park to go sledding.

We had so much fun just me and Justo.  We were gone about 30 minutes.  Justin thought it was cool to go over to the park on the hill.  Justin even sang as he went down.  We had fun just the two of us.

So behind....Going to Catch Up

I am so behind on my blog... but I plan to do a little catch up.  Why?  Well, I consider this my journal and one of these days I am going to print it and I will be glad that I played catch up.  I am only 2 1/2 months behind.........
