I'm 30!

Wow, I can't believe it. I am 30-years-old! Yesterday was my real birthday. Tyler and I went to dinner and did some errands. Thanks to Megan and Lee for watching Justin!!

Last Saturday Tyler had a little party for me at the park. He invited family. He surprised me witha cake from Dippidee. I love Dippidee! I swear this thing weighed at least 40 lbs! It was soooo good.

Here is an up close of the cake...

While playing on the toys at the park, Justin fell and hit his lip. It bled for a long time. We finally got it to stop after about 30 minutes. He was so mad at us because he wanted to get back out there and play.

I have a climber!

I came into the kitchen to find this today......

Isn't this face so cute!!

Bye-Bye Binky

Well, I did it. I cut the end of Justin's Binky off. He has only been having the Binky at bedtime and nap time for the last 2 months and Tyler has been urging me to get rid of it all together. So the last couple of nights haven't been so easy. When he cries I give in so easily and think that tomorrow will be better. So I guess you could say that cutting the end of the Binky off was more for me than him.

It was so sad. I cut it off and then I handed it to Justin. He put it in his mouth and it feel right out. He looked at it and got a pouting lip and started to cry because he could tell that it was "broken". He wouldn't put it in his mouth anymore and just kept handing it to Tyler to fix.

So last night was not so bad. He did great. He didn't even cry for it and he slept all night. I cant believe that it went that smooth. Lets hope that night #2 will be that good.

I thought I would do this because I read it on my sister's blog and I must admit that curiosity has got the best of me......I am interested to see what will happen with this.

Trying so hard to be like Dad

Justin wants to do everything Tyler does. Last night, Tyler was studying some material for the CFA and Justin ran to his room and gathered some of his own books and climbed on the couch so he could sit by Tyler. He just looked through his books so intently. Whenever I am looking at a book/magazine Justin gets his books and squirms and wiggles until he can get on my lap so I can read. Anyway, Justin just wants to be like his Dad.

Other things Justin does to copy-cat Tyler
  • Wants to wear only button-up shirts with a collar (Notice in the picture above he is wearing a button-up collared shirt with sweats)

  • Has to sit in Tyler's chair at the bar for all meals

  • Wants a bag of popcorn every night (he gets the popcorn bowl out and takes it to Tyler when he is ready)

  • Loves pistachios but only if Tyler (or Grandpa Scott) will shell them for him and certianly not if Mom shells them

  • Lays in bed for hours every night before he will finally relax and go to sleep (I think this is an inherited problem)

It is so fun to see all of the things that Justin picks up from just watching us. We truly love him and his awesome little personality!!
