Funny Fisher

December 2012.

Fisher is so stinking funny.  Here are some things I never want to forget about him at this stage.

--------------

When we tell him that Santa is watching he runs to the front door and looks out the sidelights.

-------------

We had a 7 UP and a Mountain Dew in the fridge.  Tyler told Fisher that the Mountain Dew was yucky and he couldn't drink it.  This is what I heard while I was doing dishes and Fisher was looking in the fridge.

"7 Up and yucky.  Grandma drinks yucky."

So funny.  My mom does drink Mountian Dew but I dont think we have ever really told him that.  Such an observant boy.

--------------

Fisher calls Justin "Wistin" and Hunter "Bunter".  It is the cutest thing ever.  The other night I was trying to get him to repeat the J sound with me.

Mom: "Fisher, say ja, ja."
Fisher:  "ja, ja."
Mom: "ja, ja, Justin."
Fisher "ja, ja, ja-wistin. ja, ja, ja-bunter."

--------------

Anytime someone says something like "You're a bid boy" or "You're spiderman."

Fisher says: "I Fisher!"

-------------

Tyler was talking to Fisher about being a big boy and peeing in the potty.

Tyler: "Fisher, you are a big boy and big boys wear underwear."
Fisher: "I just a little boy."

--------------

Every night when we say its time for family prayer Fisher runs into the TV room and does a headstand on the couch and folds his arms.  He likes to stay that way for the entire prayer.  Needless to say, we are working on being reverent for family prayer.

-------------

Fisher has this ritual at bed time.  This is how it goes.

Fisher takes his milk sippy into the kitchen and puts it on the counter.
Runs to his room, usually saying, "I walk."
He turns on his pillow pet light to green.
Tuck him in bed.
Get out of bed and run to the kitchen to get his milk.
Runs back to bed.
Tuck him in again.
Gets out of bed and brings his sippy to the kitchen and says, "I done."
Runs back to his bed.
Tuck him in again.
Comes out and snuggles up to his Dad watching TV.
Mom comes to see what is happening.
Fisher gives mom the 5 minute hand sign.
Dad shrugs like if to say, "What is a Dad to do?"
We wait 5 minutes.
Tuck him in again.
And maybe if we are lucky this is where he falls asleep.

I have never seen a child that falls asleep as fast as he does.  He goes a million-miles-a-minute and then he is out cold.

----------------

When we are in Sacrament meeting he likes to drink his sippy sprawled out on the bench.  Sitting up doesnt work for him.  He has to have his space too.  You better not touch him at all or crowd his space or he will let you know.

----------------

Everytime someone asks Fisher or Justin or Hunter what they want from Santa Fisher has been so consistant.

We told him that he wanted a pirate ship from santa and he has accepted that.  But the thing that he is so consistant with is that he always speaks up for Hunter and says that Hunter wants a firetruck.

So we have to keep the magic alive and had to get the firetruck for Hunter.  I finally figured out that the firetruck is really for Fisher because that is what he wants for Hunter.  It has made us so proud of him for thinking of Hunter too.

----------------

I love my Fisher.  He is so fun!

The funny conversations with Justin

December 2012.

Justin is constantly saying funny things that I hope I will never forget.  Here are some of the best ones this last month.

---------------

Justin: "Mom, you only have two more naughties and then you're off the good list and on the naughty list."

--------------

This is us at lunch.

Justin: "Fisher, its ok. You can be done with lunch."
Mom: "How about I am the mom and I will say when Fisher is done."
Justin: "How about you're the mom and I am the boss."

One of these days he will learn that mom and the boss is one in the same. :)

---------------

During the week that we were all holed up at home because we were all so sick.

Justin: "If Santa gets sick we will have to cancel Christmas to Wednesday."

When I told my sister about this she said, "No, Christmas will go on.  Santa is like mom. Everyone depends on mom even when she is sick."  So so true.

---------------

We went over to the church with some of the neighbor kids to get their wiggles out the other day.  We were playing soccer.  I was on Justin's team and this is what he said to the other team.

Justin: "Madie, you better watch out because my mom has foot skills.  I have foot skills too."

--------------

Dinner time, lunch time, breakfast time.  It doesnt matter which meal time it is, this is how it goes.

Mom: "Come on, its time to eat."
Justin: "Do I like it? Is it something that I eat fast or slow?"
Mom: "Its dinner." (or whatever meal time it is)
Justin: "I only like 3 things.  Oatmeal, cereal, and chicken alfredo."

Hunter's 1st Ice Cream Cone

December 21, 2012.

We went to dinner at JCW's and promised the boys ice cream cones if they ate good.  Hunter typically gets a taste of ice cream on a spoon.  He usually gives a bitter-beer-face and a shudder and isnt interested in the cold treat.  Well, I decided to try him out on the cone and skip the spoon all together.  He LOVED it.

All of these simple things are very big steps for Hunter.

Bonding moments

December 20, 2012.

I love bonding moments like this.

I love these boys.  I cant believe my babies are 3!

Temple Square

December 21, 2012.

I was so excited to go to Temple Square to see the lights.  We havent been for years and our kids never have been.  We met my family there and tried to go around together.

Here are my boys infront of the christmas tree inside of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.  Fisher would not look at me for nothing.

Justin and Fisher thought it was so cool to touch the temple.  Justin loved the big stairs.

Kjell took this picture. I love it.

There were so many people there that it was nearly impossible to stay all together. We ended up going off on our own. (Not to mention we had one onery dad).

I couldn't believe how busy Temple Square was.  I want to take the boys back when it is warmer and spend some time there.

Mickey Mouse Snowman

December 15, 2012.

It finally snowed again!  The boys have been waiting for it to snow again so they could build another snowman.  They were so excited when they got out of bed and looked out the front window.  So I took the boys out to play.

Fisher

Hunter

Hunter could only come out for a couple of minutes because he had a super bad runny nose and a cold.

The boys wanted to make a BIG snowman.  So we rolled and rolled the snow and this is what we came up with...

A Mickey Mouse Snowman and a baby Minnie Mouse snowgirl.  The boys were so proud!

Then they decided they needed a snow slide.  So we got busy and built the best snow slide we could.  Of course, Justin and Fisher wanted Wyatt to come check it out.

Here is Justin on the top of the slide.

Here is Justin with his moves on the way down.

Fisher's chosen direction was head first on his tummy. Of course.

Wyatt tried a bunch of different moves.  Here he is on his tummy.

Me and Hunter.  He loves being outside.

I love playing with my boys outside.  I was so proud of them cause we helped two neighbors shovel their driveways.  Way to go boys!

The Mickey Snowman melted the next day.... I couldn't believe it.

Snow day with the neighbors

December 10, 2012.

Today was a sort of warm day so we went out to play with the neighbors.  Hunter had fun just being outside with the cool air on his face.

Fisher and Justin had a blast when Will pulled them around the cul-de-sac on the sled.  Will is so awesome with the little kiddos.  Thanks Will.

What a fun day!

World of Electronics

December 9, 2012.

I just love to watch the boys when they are in their little "Electronic World".

This is how it works with the iPad.

Step 1:  This is Fisher explaining to Hunter what to do.

Step 2: Fisher demonstrating what to do.

Step 3: Fisher teaching step-by-step with his little pointer fingers going a mile a minute.

Step 4: This should be were Hunter gets a turn but it usually turns out just like this.  Hunter is happy to be playing with the brothers.

Meanwhile, Justin is in his own world playing the V-Smile.

Haha. I love watching these boys!  They make me laugh.

Justin's note to Granda Clark

December 8, 2012.

A few days ago Grandma Clark got really sick.  She went to the hospital and had to stay awhile.  She had a lot of infection but she is getting better.  Justin wanted to write her a note.  He decided what to write and sounded everything out by himslef.

Envelope: Grandmom Clark

Inside the card:
I wil gav you a wuv wen i git to the hasoobl. i wuv you. Justin

Translation: I will give you a love when I get to the hospital. I love you. Justin.

Justin loves his Grandma Clark.  All my boys do.  They have a close relationship with her.  They miss going to see her at her house.

Grandma Clark getting sick caused quiet a scare for a lot of us.  Tyler was just returning from a business trip to Texasa when he got word that Susan was going to the hospital via ambulance.  He called me to let me know he was going straight over to the hospital.  A couple weeks later Susan is on the mend and trying to gain strength and independence.  In all of this I realized how important my mother-in-law is to me.  Susan and I have always been close and I have really grown to love her.  That day I realized that I rely on Susan for so much and that she really does mean a lot to me. She has been the best mother-in-law a girl could ask for.

I am so thankful that my boys have many fun memories with their Grandma Clark. I am so thankful that I can consider her my friend.

Justin's Letter to Santa

December 8, 2012.

At the Johnsson Family Christmas party we had the kids write letters to Santa.  Hunter didnt write one. Fisher just scribled on his. Justin did his all by himself.

Here is Justin's letter.

The top section reads:  I've been good this year because....
Justin wrote: "help mom. Help Dad. Goot at skl."
Tanslation: Help mom. Help Dad. Good at school.

The bottom section reads: My Christmas wish list is...
Justin wrote: "DS, Bouncy ball wif a hanal, DS gams, sr myo budrs."
Translation: Ds, bouncy ball with a handle, DS games, Super Mario Brothers.

This was so cute.  He is learning to write and read in kindergarten.  This is when the notes/letter/stories are the best.

Gingerbread Men

December 6, 2012.

One of my favorite things to do with the boys each Christmas is decorate gingerbread men.  I discovered that gingerbread men were much funner than houses...they lay on their back and the candy never falls off the frosting!

Here are the finished products!  Justin and Fisher with their gingerbread guys! Yes, Fisher is eyeing the left over candy in the bowl.  I think he ate just as much as he put on.

I did the frosting and the boys stuck on their own candy. I was so impressed. Justin had to make sure that everything was in a pattern and that everything was balanced.  Justin wanted sprinkles on his.  Each limb got a different color sprinkle.  I was amazed at Fisher and how particular he was.  He did such a good job. I was so impressed that he didnt copy Justin's.  Fisher insisted on having the mints on the hads and feet.

It was so fun to watch the boys decorate. Hunter was having a nap so he missed all the action.

Blue Bear's Birthday

November 25, 2012.

Justin woke up and informed us that it was Blue Bear's Birthday.  Blue Bear is Justin's favorite stuffed animal.  So today we had a birthday party.

This is Blue Bear.  According to Justin, Blue Bear turned 4 today.

Justin planned the games.  This is him helping Blue Bear (blind-folded) to pin the tail on the donkey.

Here is Fisher helping his Dinosaur.

We had the birthday cake at Grandma Sing's and Grandpa Scott's house.  Here we are singing "Happy Birthday".  We were pleasantly surprised with some cousins at Grandma's to help us celebrate.

Blue Bear even blew out all of his candles.

Justin wanted to take a picture of all of Blue Bear's friends before going to bed.

Justin put a lot of thought into this birthday party.  He said he started planning the night before.  We had a lot fo fun celebrating Blue Bear's birthday!

We thought for sure that the next day would bring another stuffed animal's birthday but it didnt.

Give Thanks

Thanksgiving 2012.

This year I am thankful for many things.  I am thankful for the gospel of Jesus Christ.  I am thankful for a Savior that knows and understands who I am and my needs.  I am thankful for an awesome husband and the best ever little boys.  I love my little family. I have amazing parents and in-laws.  I am so blessed to live close to our families.

Some items of note for our family this year:

Hillary & Tyler:
Because of Tyler's hard work, we went on a trip to San Fransisco.  Just the two of us.
We celebrated our 10 year anniversary.
Tyler bought and transformed a Rhino into a family UTV Cadillac.
Hillary survived sending Justin to Kindergarten and the boys to preschool.
Hillary now understands what it means to be a mom-taxi.

Justin:
Started Kindergarten this year.
Earned his Alphabet Crown and his Blending Badge.
Took swimming lessons.
Discovered Mario Brothers and the Wii.
Had a blast playing soccer and t-ball.  He's quite the little athlete.
He loves going to the park with his friends.
Jumped off the diving board without help (wearing a life jacket).
Learned to do a front flip on the tramp.

Fisher:
He can now talk and we can understand what he says.
He is a master wizard at the iPad.
Thinks he is 5 and likes to run with Brother "Wistin".
He survived one round (3 weeks) of Itty-Bitty-Football at the Legacy Center.
Has turned into Batman and Spiderman by night.
Discovered the park and how much fun you can have there.
Can do any trick he can think of on the tramp.
Is a Daddy's boy.
Started a Joy school with kiddos in our neighborhood.

Hunter:
Learned to walk with a walker.
Can stand for several seconds independantly.
Started preschool.
Stayed in the hospital for 3 days after having kidney surgery.
Loves to swing.
Mastered eating dry cereal snacks.
Learning to feed himself with a spoon.
Has discovered books and the iPad.
SLEEPS THROUGH THE NIGHT REGULARLY!

All of the above are the little things that I am thankful for.  I am so blessed!

Chucky Cheeze

November 17, 2012.

We were looking for something fun to do as a family and Tyler suggested Chucky Cheese.

Tyler: "Hey boys, do you guys want to go to Chucky Cheese?"
Justin: "You mean where a kid can be a kid?!?!"

We laughed so hard.... they do listen... to the TV!

We had pizza and then played. We've never taken the boys to play arcades anywhere so this was a first experience for them.  And, the pizza wasn't half bad.

Naturally, the big monster truck was their first choice.

They were able to ride it all together.  Hunter was a bit nervous but Fisher and Justin didn't give it a second thought.

Fisher and Hunter raced on the race car ride.

Justin shooting the birds.

Tyler "had" to help Fisher play the big guns game.  They played this one twice.

The boys had so much fun earning tickets. We got 237 tickets and were able to trade them in for a foam roakcet launcher.  Yes, just one.  They had to share.  Not to big of a deal considering it was only good for about 2 launches.

This was a FUN night.  Money well spent.

Where is this child's mother?

November 11, 2012.

At about 1:00 in the afternoon, Fisher came into the kitchen and had his pajama pants in his hand and this is what he said: "Change my bum."

Yes, this is what a toddler (who should be potty trained) looks like after being neglected all Saturday morning. Yes, it is 1:00 pm and he has not had a diaper change since he woke up!

Where is this child's mother?  That is exactly what I would have said 5 years ago (before I had children of my own) when I went to my sister's house to find her child just like this.

My defense: it was Saturday, Fisher likes to stay in his jammies all day (and I let him) on regular basis, and Tyler was home too and I figured he had changed him.  Oops.

We laughed so hard that I nearly cried and Fisher loved being the center of attention!

Let's build a snowman

November 9, 2012.

We came home from being somewhere and when I pulled the van in the garage Justin said, "Hey mom, lets build a snowman."  I looked in the back seat and Fisher and Hunter were both asleep.  I thought,  'Oh man, I have so much to do and the little boys are asleep'.  Then I decided building a snowman was more important than anything else I needed to do.  So I put the little boys in their beds for a nap and Justin and I suited up.

We build a snowman and adorned him with our "Snowman Kit".  We even figured out something to work for his hat.  Justin said it wasn't a top hat but it would do.

It was a lot of fun. Justin is getting very good at rolling snowballs.

Thanks Justin for asking mom to play.

My little big boys

November 8, 2012.

I just love when my big boys want me to rock them before bed.  Here Fisher and Justin are with mom in the rocking chair.

I can't believe how much Fisher looks like Justin in this picture. Of course, they are in their spiderman pajamas.  Boy, I look exhausted.  I am.

Grandpa Scott's Leaves

November 5, 2012.

Grandpa Scott has some of the biggest shade trees at his house and that means LEAVES galore in the fall.  This kids love to rake them into big piles and jump in them.  The moms think it is fun too but for only about 5 minutes and then we realize what daunting task lies ahead in cleaning them all up.

Justin was such a good worker.

Fisher did pretty good with his bite-sized rake.

Hunter even got in on the action.  He was the best little boy for how long we were out there.

Here are some of the kids working. Look at all those leaves!

The girls were pretty protective of their big pile. Hannah, Emmie, and Addie.

Then the boys took over the girls' pile.  Here are all the little boys - 6 of them 5 to 3 years old!
Soren, Fisher, Jason, Justin, Keegan, and Hunter in the front.  I took 3 pictures and not one kid is looking at me in any of them!

Justin and Keegan.  Look at the face on Keegan...I love it!

Grandma Sing and Hunter.

Justin was so excited about getting all covered up in a pile of leaves.  He talked about it for days before we went up there.

Then we got serious and Haylie got the blower out.  Fisher loved running in it.  The blower saved us.

Hunter would giggle any time Haylie got close to him with the blower.  I was surprised that he liked it.

We finally got all the leaves cleaned up.  Grandpa tried to get home from work tohelp us but he got hung up.  Until next year...
