Kindergarten and the Bus

August 29, 2012.

Today was Justin's first day of riding the bus to and from Kindergarten.  He has been so excited to ride the bus (mom just had to take him to school on the first day).

Fisher got his backpack and put it on so he could be just like Justin.  Here they are walking to the bus stop.

Dad didn't have to go into work until 11:00 so it was a special treat to have Dad walk to the bus with us.

Here the kids are in the line for the bus.

Here Justin is getting ready to get on and he was waving goodbye.  He has the sound bag in his hand.

Fisher was so sad when Justin got on the bus.  He cried and cried.  He really thought he was going to school with Justin.  Poor little guy has lost his play buddy.

Justin said that he sat by Wyatt and Gwen going to school. Oh, and Will was right by him on the other side.
I am so proud of Justin for being so brave and riding the bus!

Riding the school bus home

August 28, 2012.

Today was the first day of Kindergarten and Justin rode the school bus home.  He did such a great job.  I dont think he was nervous at all.  Nothing like mom.  Justin has been so excited to ride the bus with Wyatt and Kierra.  I am so glad they are all on the same track and that they can ride together.

He rides the Hedgehog bus home and gets off stop #8.

Here he is behind Halle Foster waiting to get off.

Mr. Theler, the principal, checked him off the list and made sure I was there to pick him up.

The principal will ride the bus home with the kindergarteners for the first week so make sure no one gets lost.  I really like Mr. Theler and think he will be an awesome principal!

Tomorrow Justin will ride the bus to school and home from school!

Justin's first day of Kindergarten

August 28, 2012.

Justin started Kindergarten today!  He was so excited this morning.  Here he is all ready to go with his Mario backpack.

Justin is now a Thunder Ridge Rapture.  Here he is with the rapture that is in the front office.

I took Justin to school this morning so that I could see how things were set up. I was a little nervous about how they would be getting off the bus and finding where they needed to be.  We got tot he school early enough that we could watch the neighbor kids get of the bus and get to their classes.  Here Justin and Wyatt were playing on the rocks.  They didnt seem concerned about the buses much.  But it made me feel a whole lot better to watch.

Before going into their classrooms they were able to play on the big toy just for Kindergarteners.  Here is Justin, Kierra and Cameron.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Justin today!  He looked like he fit right in.

Here are some of the neighborhood kids: Halle Foster, Justin, Jackson Melville and Wyatt Page.

After they played on the playground for a few minutes they had to line up along the fence for their teacher to call them in.  Starting with the girl in the purple is Ellie Dangerfield, McKenna Grimley, Kierra Saunders and Justin.  The girls are all neighborhood kids that are in Justin's class.

Here they are getting ready to go into class.

And here he is waving bye-bye to me.

Justin's teacher is Mrs. Glover.  Justin said his favorite thing about her is that she is nice.  His favorite thing bout today was having 3 recesses.  When he got home from school he called Tyler to tell him all about it.  He told Tyler about using scissors, and markers, and glue and making an art project.  He liked playing at recess and he is so excited to have the sound bag.

Justin brought home the "Sound bag".  This is a bag that he has to fill  up with objects that start with the letter Y.  He was also asked to bring a treat that starts with Y.  He has to take the bag back tomorrow!

I think that mom is going to like this school stuff. I know that Justin is going to love it! We will have to see what Fisher and Hutner think of Justin being at school.

Good Morning

August 21, 2012.

I just love this picture of my boys.  Hunter is cracking me up down there at the bottom.

Fisher is on the left and Justin on the right.  They love to watch cartoons with their blankets and pillows.  Who can blame them?

Bike Helmets

August 20, 2012.

We finally got the twins bike helmets similar to Justin's.

Hunter, Justin and Fisher

Fisher on his wiggle bike with the brown with orange helmet.

Hunter got the cross bones camo helmet.

Fisher is working on riding a bike with training wheels.  He is doing ok but still trying to figure out the pedaling thing.

Its so so hard to pedal and steer and look where you are going all at once for a 3 year old!

I am so glad we finally got their helmets!!  Justin is such a good example and is always wearing his that Fisher and Hunter want to wear one too.

Ditches

August 14, 2012.

One evening I was playing with the boys in the sandbox.  I was swinging Hunter and Fisher started to make water puddles in the sandbox with the hose.  So I put Hunter and the tramp and helped build some ditches in the sand.  Justin was so proud of what we had done he wanted Wyatt to come and play too.  The boys were so proud of themselves.  They played for about an hour after we were done and they would have played longer if it wouldn't have gotten dark.

Fisher, Wyatt and Justin

I think I had as much fun as they did.  It only took them about 3 minutes to break it all apart the next day cause they wanted to start all over.

Walking at the Church

August 14, 2012.

Hunter has been walking all over the gym at the church.  We go over to the church every day and Hunter walks for 20-25 minutes with his walker.  In the first week he made so much progress. He became so much more stable and confident.  When we first started walking at the church he had to have one of the front wheel locked to help with steering; now he has both unlocked and does pretty good steering.  He moves a lot faster and needs less and less assistance every day.

Way to go Hunter!

The Sandbox

August 13, 2012.

The sandbox has been so fun this summer.  The boys love playing in the evening when the sun goes down and its not so hot.  Our new playset has been worth every penny.

Justin and Wyatt at the slide.

Fisher with his trucks.

Hunter and his swing.

They could do this for hours.  Justin stands on the slide and the other kids go through his legs.  This time it is Fisher going on his tummy.

We have so fun in our backyard!  The sandbox is one of the boys' favorites!

Bikes and FHE

August 13, 2012.

It is so fun on Monday nights to have Family Home Evening!  Sometimes the lessons are brief (ok always) but we always have fun.

This night I can't remember what we talked about or the song that we sang but I do remember having so fun with the boys on their bikes with the bike jump!

Justin

Fisher

Hunter

Hunter was so dang happy and would giggle ever time the boys jumped off the jump.

Fisher is hilarious when it comes to the bike jump.  He goes off on his trike then he rides into the garage only to come out on the wiggle bike.  He goes off the jump with the wiggle bike and rides into the garage and comes out on the little 4-wheeler and goes off the jump with it.  He then rides back into the garage and gives Justin's scooter a try and then realizes he doesn't know how to ride the scooter so he gets on his trike again.  He is so cute.

Justin rotates between his bike and his scooter.  Justin is into riding with one hand and figuring out other tricks he can do on his bike.

I love Family Home Evening.  We are finally to the point that the boys know what it means when we say it is Family Night.  Hip Hip Hooray!

Swiss Roll

August 13, 2012.

After Family Home Evening we had swiss rolls for dessert.  Tyler decided to let Hunter have one.  I didn't think he was going to be able to eat it but he did! He ate ever piece of it without gagging/throwing up!  Hip Hip Hooray!

Twins for sure

August 12, 2012.

Aren't they the cutest things ever?  Hunter and Fisher like to lay in the TV room and drink their milk before they go to bed.  Hunter always has his feet straight in the air so that is how Fisher thinks he needs to drink his milk.  Here Fisher is copying Hunter.  They are twins for sure!!

PS. Yes, Hunter is drinking from a sippy!  That means no more bottle! Yippie!

Splash pad with the cousins

August 8, 2012.

My cousin Emily flew into town from Virginia.  Every summer that she comes we have a play date at the park with all the Gerber cousins who want to join us.  This year we decided to go to the Highland Splash Pad.  It was so fun to see everyone.

When we got there Hunter was asleep and Justin wanted to hang out with him until he woke up.

This is one of my favorite pictures of me and Fisher.  He was truly a water bug and was up and down the river.  Addie and Emmie really helped me out and stayed right by my Fisher-man.  Look at that smile...he was having a blast.

Hunter liked getting his feet wet a little.  He did great with the cold water.

Justin fell and hit his head on one of the rocks in the river.  He got quite the goose egg.  The sucker fixed everything...almost.

Mandy with Gracie and Maggie. Haylie and Kristal and Soren in the shade.

Racheal and Tanner.

Kristal and me with Hunter.

Will and Cole and Jason.

Thanks for the fun day out!  Can't wait until Emily comes next summer!

Homemade stairs

August 4, 2012.

Tyler made a set of stairs so that Hunter could get some practice time.  Hunter is still learning how to go down the stairs BACKWARDS.  When he goes downstairs he tries to go headfirst.

Tyler built the stairs so that there are 3 steps on each side.

Then he covered it with carpet pad.

Then he finished them off with carpet.

The first time on the stairs Hunter was a little bit scared.  He finally warmed up to them and will go up them now and sit on the top platform and smile.

Tyler is one handy daddy! Thanks for building these!
