Alpine Slide - Park City

August 31, 2013

Our annual Park City trip this year was over Tyler's birthday and Labor Day weekend.  Grandpa Scott and Grandma Sing came with us this year.  We stayed at the Silverado Lodge at the Canyons again.

For Tyler's actual birthday we went to the Moutainside Resort and went on the Alpine Slide and played on the other toys there.

Here we are getting ready for the Alpine Slide.  Justin was so brave to go down all by himself.  He did fantastic!  Hunter and I followed behind Justin on the "slow" track.  Hunter really liked the wind in his face.

Grandma Sing went against Justin and Tyler and Fisher rode down behind her.

Grandpa doesn't even look happy to be there but he had fun too.

While we were in line to board the ski lift that would take us up to the Alpine Slide we had to wait a while due to a moose getting too close to the track.  They just wait for a while until the moose moves far enough away for it to be safe for riders again.  While talking to the worker at the bottom about the Moose, Justin said to her, "It's ok, I have handled a rhinoceros before."  He was so serious and we laughed so hard.

My new hobby - Canning

August 29, 2013

I have always wanted to learn to bottle food.  This is the year.  I got some peaches from Tyler's dad and so I figured it was time to learn.  I called my friend and cousin Rachael.  She has bottled for years and had given my my first Blue Book for my birthday this year.  She came over and taught me everything I needed to know about bottling.

Here are my first 12 bottles of the season!

I am so excited to start bottling I cant stand it.  Thanks Rach!

Hunter's 1st day of Preschool at Pony Express

August 28, 2013

Today is Hunter's first day of preschool this year.  This is his 2nd year at Pony Express in Miss Gina's class.  Hunter really enjoys school!  This year we revamped his IEP and streamlined some of his goals and made them more realistic for Hunter.

Here Hunter is ready to get to class but mom has the 'brakes' on (my foot in front of the wheel).

There he goes to meet the kids getting off the bus.

Hooray for school!!  His 1st day this year was MUCH easier on Mom than his 1st day last year!

Fisher's 1st Day 3-year-old preschool

August 21, 2013

Today was Fisher's 1st day of official preschool.  He is in the 3-year-old program at Learning Dynamics with Ms. Clark for his teacher.  He goes from 9:00-11:15 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  He has been so excited to go to the "Apple School".  Fisher knew most of his ABC's before starting but did not have any letter sounds or letter recognition.  He knew most of his colors and some shapes.  We are so excited for him to learn and grow!

He was so excited to go to school that he was so silly for this picture!  Knowing how excited he was helped me not to worry about him.

Justin's 1st Day of 1st Grade

August 20, 2013.

Justin was very excited to start 1st grade.  I was not worried about him going to school all day because I knew he would love it.  His teacher is Mrs. Schmidt.  Justin met her at the back to school open house and was able to find his classroom and his desk.

Here he is on the 1st day.

He was so excited to have a superheros backpack with a lunch box that strapped on.  He took lunch the first day.

He always has really liked riding the bus.  Here he is with Gwen and Will.

Bye Mom.  He had no problems waving and jumping on the bus!  I am so proud of him for being brave to go to school.

About 1 hour before Justin got home from school I was starting to get worried if he liked it or not.  It was starting to feel like such a LONG day to have him be at school for so long.  Fisher was really missing him too.  We walked to the bus stop to get him.  When I asked how his first day was he said, "Best first day of school Ever!"  Once he said that I knew I had nothing to worry about.

When we got home I had to laugh at his shirt.  He had 3 different stickers on his shirt.  The big one on the right is his name tag from class.  The top left one said 3:30 for B Track with his bus name "Juggler" on it.  The bottom right says Schmidt for his teacher.  I love how they kept track of him all day.

Justin is a fantastic student and he loves school.  Haha... he is sort of like his mother but smart like his father.

Fisher never stops

Fisher never stops.  And when he does..... he falls fast asleep.

Love this crazy ball of fire!

Pirates or Ninjas?

August 14, 2013.

How does a boy decide if it is going to be a PIRATE kind of day or a NINJA kind of day?  How about both!

Justin, Brody and Fisher playing Pirate Ninja's at Grandma Clark's.

You have to love boy cousins.
