Perinatologist at 24 weeks

I went to the perinatologist the other day and had an ultrasound on the babies. Perinatologists just take a closer look at what is happening growth wise with the two little ones. The bigger the babies get the harder it is to see what is what in the ultrasound; so sorry, I don't have a great picture to post. Things are looking good. Both babies are about 1 lb 8 oz each. It is amazing that a mere 3 lbs of baby makes me look and feel like I do!! haha. Both babies are growing and developing well. We are keeping an eye on one of the babies kidney's and its fluid level.

I will go for another ultrasound in 4 weeks. My OB originally told me that I might be going to the perinatologist every two weeks so I am glad that at this point I am only going once a month!!

I am starting to feel more and more movement everyday. It is amazing to me to think about two little boys sharing such a confined space! It is so exciting!! We only have 12 weeks to go until I hit the goal of 36 weeks!!

23 Week Check Up

Today was the 23 week check up. I was excited that things went well. My blood pressure is doing great! Increasing blood pressure is a sign of pre-eclampsia and that is what put me on bed rest with Justin. So-far-so-good. The babies heartbeats were great - 153 & 160.

Next week is my first visit to the perinatologist. Perinatologists just concentrate on the babies health via ultra sounds. We are just praying that the perinatologist finds healthy babies.

I am going to be busy with doctor appointments starting very soon. I will go to the perinatologist every 2 weeks with non-stress tests in between those appointments. Plus I will see my OB every 2 weeks as well. Good thing I have plenty of awesome baby-sitters!

Relief Society

I was officially released from the Relief Society Presidency yesterday. I have served as the Enrichment Counselor for the last 2 1/2 years in my ward. I have learned so much. Yesterday was a bitter sweet day for me. I knew that the release was coming but didn't know when. I will miss the opportunities I had being in the presidency. My favorite part was the visits that we did each week. I loved visiting sisters in their home and getting to know them a little. I think that I will have the hardest time with letting go. I will miss my dear sweet friends, Chris, Deanne and Sundee at our weekly meetings (and I have been missing Marci for the last couple of months already!!)

I know that my calling now is to get these two little babies here and be the best mom that I can be.

So to all of you sisters in my ward, please help me adjust to this change!

Justin's Two (3 weeks ago)

Justin is now officially in the terrible two's. I can't believe I am making this post nearly 3 weeks after the fact but I guess it's better late than never. Here he is the morning of his birthday.

For Justin's birthday we got him a swing set for the backyard. It was a painful event for Tyler to put it together but he managed. He did a an awesome job and even had a little 'help' from Justin.

Some of the things that Justin loves doing:

  • Playing on his fort with Dad (the swing set)

  • Jumping on my bed in his pj's right before bedtime

  • Washing dishes

  • Loading the washing machine

  • Riding his bike

  • Playing in the shower

  • Watering the flower pots
  • Dressing just like Dad - that means collars and buttons on his shirts

  • Watching Cars (the only thing he watches that will keep his attention)

  • Singing songs

  • Nursery Time at church (He loves nursery and talks about it all week)

  • Doing things by himself with NO help from Mom or Dad

  • Loves going to Grandpa's house

This is my favorite picture right now. I got Tyler and Justin matching ties for Father's Day because Justin loves to dress like his dad. The first time to church he wore it the whole time and didnt even try to take it off! Everyday he wants to wear a shirt with a collar and a button! I have gotten him to wear polo shirts as an acceptable alternate to a button-up shirt. Aren't my two boys so handsome.
