Field Trip to the Dentist

On March 15th, Justin went on a field trip to Children's Crossing Dentist.

A couple of the kids dressed up like teeth and they were taught how to brush in circles all the way down to the gums and how to floss.

Then they went into the back and got to see the instruments they use to clean teeth.  They all got a turn riding the chair and seeing the TV on the celing.  They all had so much fun.

Each kids got a bag with a toothbrush, toothpast and some floss picks.  They also got to put a token into the prize machine and get out a special prize for being so good.  It was a good experience for all.  Justin thinks the dentist is sooo cool!

What we have been doing indoors the last couple of months

Here are a few snap shots of some of the fun things we have been doing indoors the past few months.

Justin playing the IPAD with his stuffed dog, Spike-Noodle-Spike-Noodle.

Fisher loves to play play-doh on the little Handy Manny Table.  This will entertain him for about 30-45 minutes.

Hunter, Justin and Fisher playing play-doh at the kitchen counter.

Fisher, Justin and Maggie making Valentines necklaces out of pony beads!  This is one of their favorite activities.

Hunter and Fisher in the pack & play.  Some nights Hunter will wake up in the early morning hours and is rarin' to go.  So he plays in the pack & play and I go back to bed for an hour or so.  When this happens, Fisher always climbs in with Hunter and they play together.

Hunter loves to jump on Fisher's bed.  Hunter will crawl into their bedroom and goes straight for Fisher's bed.  His bed still is a full size crib so he has to settle for Fisher's because it is partially open on the one side.  He gets in Fisher's bed and jumps while holding on to the end rail.  (He needs a little help form mom or dad to jump.)  He just loves this and he gets the biggest smile on his face when he is jumping!

Here's Justin playing the race car game on the IPAD.  He is actually pretty good at it.

Justin is coloring in his phonic activity books.  He started at A and didn't put the markers down until he got to Z!  He had so much fun doing this!

Fisher loves to play trucks; especially if they have a trailer with it.  Here he is playing trucks.

We have so much fun around our house.  Fisher is one IPAD playing little guy himself.  I should have a picture of him in here too.

Batman digging for gold

I just love this picture of Batman (AKA Fisher) picking his nose!

So flexible

Hunter is so flexible it is almost unbelievable.  This is his usual position when getting dressed.

He puts his legs up and wraps his arms around them and pulls his feet toward his face. He can touch both ears at the same time with his toes! It is pretty amazing!

Gentlemen, Start Your Engines

On March 4, 2012 the boys had their version of racing their race cars in our kitchen!  They had so much fun.  Justin was Fransesco Bernulli, Hunter was Lightning McQueen, and Fisher was just a race car.  They had so much fun lapping the kitchen table and into the TV room.

Sleeping Boys

I just love taking pictures of my boys while they sleep.

Eating time

Meal time is my least favorite time of the day because I have small children and small children dont like to try new things.  They only like to eat certain things a certain way.

But we still have good laughs while eating.

One night we had french bread pizza. Normally on these nights I make the little boys a totinos pizza.  But Justin decided that the french bread pizza looked better, who could blame him for that.  He told us he wanted a big piece and we better not cut it.  So we gave him a big peice.  He ate about 1/2 of it before 'his tummy was full'.  We were impressed.

One night I made some sort of casserole.  Fisher's least favorite thing.  I was trying to entice him to eat a few bites by putting a few gold fish crackers on top.  I got busy cleaning up and when I got back to him he was eating a bowl full of fish crackers.  He had dumped the rest of the canister on his bowl.  He was as proud as ever of himself.  So I did what any good mother does and let him have gold fish for dinner!

Hunter is still working on eating at the table (bar at our house) with us.  So here he is at snack time with his Chocolate Carnation Instant Breakfast drink.  Its all part of calorie packing!  That bottle is about 210 calories.

All these photos were taken the last week of February 2012.

Fisher and the Nerf Gun

The end of February, Fisher (AKA Batman) got his hands on the biggest Nerf gun ever!  It was nearly as big as him.  He had a blast!  Thanks to cousin Brody for sharing for awhile!

Justin and his glasses

On February 16, 2012, Justin got glasses.  That was a Thursday.  On Sunday Fisher brought Justin's glasses to Tyler in 2 pieces.  Yes, our first pair of glasses lasted about 4 days!  We are still on the second pair after almost 2 months!

At Justin's 4 year old check up the doctor suggested I take him to the eye doctor in 6 months or so because he thought his left eye turned in just a little bit.  So when i registered him for Kindergarten I thought it was a good time to take him in.

Justin did great at his examination.  He did just what the office girls told him to do and he talked their ears off. They couldn't believe that he is only 4 years old.  He sat in the chair supper still for the doctor and answered all of his questions.

The eye doctor asked me if Justin had complained about not being able to see.  I told him no and that I didn't think he had any problems and we were just coming on our pediatricians recommendation.  The doctor said, "Well, he actually sees pretty terrible."

So we picked out these glasses that day.  Dad wanted to come and see the selection too so we went back a few days later. Justin picked out the very same glasses the second time so we knew they were the winners.

The best part about these glasses are the transitional lenses.  They turn into sunglasses outside.  They are pretty cool.  We are so glad we upgraded to that feature!

He has been so responsible with them.  The rules are: only take your glasses off when wrestling or jumping on the tramp and friends or cousins can not try them on.

Way to go Justin!

Twinners

I got out of the shower one morning and went to check on the boys and they were sitting on the tile watching cartoons.  I didn't realize I dressed them the same.  haha.  Aren't they cute.  This was taken on February 9, 2012.

Project Storage Room

This is one of the latest projects going on at our house. Tyler sheet rocked and painted the storage room. We have had it done for a couple months now and it is awesome! I love it. I know these pictures just show how much junk we have but I know exactly where all my junk is and I can get to it without unburrying it.

This is the cold storage.  It is a great storage space.  It was tough to get a picture.

Hooray for a finished storage room!  Thanks Tyler for doing a great job on it.  It feels good to be organized.

Valentines for the Boys

Valentines 2012 was a little different at our house. On Valentine's Day Eve mom gave the boys their surprise: A Criss Cross Crash Racetrack!  The excitedment out of Justin and Fisher was better than Christmas morning!  I could not have asked for a better reaction!

Tyler with the boys: Fisher, Hunter and Justin.

Its a good thing the neighbor has some D batteries because I forgot the batteries!  Thanks Emily for saving the day!

Tyler surprised me on Valentines Day with a watch with interchangable watch bands!  I wanted one for Christmas but could never find the time or the energy to get me one.  Thanks Tyler and Boys for a fun Valentines!

The only reason I love Cartoons

February 13, 2012....

I love when my boys watch cartoons like this.  I am so blessed to have 3 boys!

Hunter's Therapy

These pictures and post is from February 11, 2012.

Hunter is still very invovled with physical therapy.  He works with two physical therapists.  One is with Kids on the Move and the other is a therapist with Orem Pediatric Rehab.  He is working on balance and walking.

Here he is with his reverse walker.  This walker follows behind him rather than pushing infront of him.  This helps with better posture for walking.  He has been doing so well with it.  For the longest time Hunter would just cry and cry when I would try to get him to hold on to the walker.  All of a sudden one day he decided it wasnt so bad and held on and stood there.  He didnt walk that day but it was an improvement and over the next few days he warmed up to walking with it.  As part of his therapy, Hunter laps our kitchen and TV room a couple times.  He does this a couple times a day.  This distance is hard work for him.  Here he is coming out of the kitchen and into the TV room.

To work on balance Hunter stands against a flat surface with his shoes on.  You cant see me in the picture but I am only about 2 feet away from Hunter.  The shoes give him a broader base to balance and the flat surface or the wall give him support and doesn't allow him to bend forward and stick his bum out. He can stand here for several 3-5 seconds before he reaches for mom.

The goal is to get him to stand there and to take a step rather than fall forward when he wants to move.  This also helps with his confidence to stand independently.  In the picture below, he is falling forward to get to me.  You can see my foot there in the bottom of the photo; I am sitting on a chair in front of him.

Hunter is doing well.  He is not quite 2 1/2 in these photos.  This was a good therapy day!
