Almost the end of Hunter's GI Nightmate

April 3, 2013.

The Middle of Hunter's GI Nightmare

Today we met with a surgeon at Primary Children's Hospital on recommendation from Dr. Mizell for a Nissen Fundopilation consultation.  That is a surgery that they can do to repair the valve between the esophagus and the stomach by pulling the top part of the stomach up and wrapping it around the esophagus.  This makes a one way valve to keep food in the stomach.

To make a super long and emotional story short the surgeon said that he did not agree with Dr. Mizell and that he thinks Hunter has not had the problem long enough to warrant surgery. WHAT??????  2 months of this regurgitating was not long enough?!?! We were so disappointed and shocked.

So now what?  Well, we decided to go on our planned Spring Break vacation to Hurricane to stay at Preston's house with the Gerber cousins and try to figure out what the plan is.
